The Aydın Doğan Foundation was founded in 1996 to serve the basic requirements of a respectable modern society fort he self-governance and solution pf people’s problems, The Aydın Doğan Foundation creates opportunities for individuals to reach basic tools and correct unbaised information. The Foundation makes investments, organize sor supports activities aimed at raising the level of education and culture of society.
Etablisehed in 1966 as an organization serving public good, the Foundation has been focusing its efforts on education, public health, scientific, research, sports and economics. In order to contribute the developments and progress in the fields that form the social an cultural atmosphere in Turkey, the Doğan Group of Companies has united all their activities in these fields under the roof of the Foundation.
The Aydın Doğan Foundation is aware of the fact that through their support in the field of education they have also been contributing to the development of a qualified work force. Therefore the Foundation has been keen on developing modern educational facilities, especially in developing regions of the country. The Foundation aims to support schools by equiping them with strate-of-the-art technologies.
Aside from education, other priority areas of the Foundation are supporting media studies as well as accelerating cultural and social progress.
The Foundation also aims to produce solutions to economic, social, cultural and scientific issues and organizes national and international conferences, congresses and seminars. Research in these fields is encouraged through publication of the research results. Publications on media studies are deemed particulary important fort he Foundation.
The Foundation also provides every kind of conributionin areas where Turkey needs to be properly represented on international forums as a member of the contemporary global culture. In this context, through the determined efforts of the Foundation, the Aydın Doğan Awards, the International Cartoon Competition and the Young Communicators Competiton have now become traditional activities of the Foundation.

The Aydın Doğan Foundation believes and works toward the ideal that democracy is an administrative style that cannot be given up, and that a powerful, respected modern society can be created through the efforts of modern generations educated a) to honor universal values and b) to contribute to the solutions of social and economic problems.
