World Children's Rights Day
On November 20, 2009, World Children's Rights Day was celebrated at Sema ve Aydın Doğan Education Park at Fatih, Istanbul. The Aydın Doğan Foundation organised the day for elementary school students of the Fatih District with the aim of developing common feelings among all children, to further strengthen all nations' dream of living in peace, and to raise children's awareness of their universal rights.

Students who participated in the celebrations of the day watched various informative plays and entertaining shows performed by theater, cinema, and tv artists Asuman Dabak, Ziya Kürküt, Mehtap Bayri, and Atilla Irgılata. Books and posters on children's rights were also given out.

Kalender Metin Doğan Communal Kitchen
As another public service for Kelkit, the Aydın Doğan Foundation continues to fund the communal kitchen which daily serves hot meals to 150 girl students and 250 needy citizens.

Restoration Project of the Beyazıt State Library
The very first Ottoman state library, Beyazıt State Library, was originally built as an alms house kitchen of the Sultan Beyazid Complex. In 1882 Sultan Abdlhamid ordered the building to serve as a library.

The Aydın Doğan Foundation cooperated with the Tabanlıoğlu Architectural Group and donated a project to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the restoration and modernisation of the library building, damaged in the 1999 earthquake. The project aims for the library to serve as a research and cultural center. Restoration work is currently underway.

Afyonkarahisar Jazz and Classical Music Festivals
The jazz and classical music concerts, exhibitions, and panel discussions held within the scope of the Jazz and Classical Music Festivals at the Aydın Doğan Arts and Sciences Center of Afyonkarahisar, continue to enrich the social and cultural development of students.

The Aydın Doğan Foundation continues to support the popular Afyonkarahisar Classical Music and Jazz Festivals. National as well as international musicians, artists, cartoon artists, writers, cinematographers and photographers participate in various side activities of the festivals and students thus get the opportunity to meet and chat with world-famous artists.
